 What kind of glass is used for the shower enclosures conception?- All shower enclosures fabrication is realised with tempered safety glass thickness between 4 and 8 mm.
This fabrication process increase the glass resistance which became a real security element.
It consists to expose a common glass to elevate temperatures, in a uniform way, closing to his fusion state.
Then we keep out the glass from the oven to instantly cold the outer parts, using fresh air on both faces, with controlled pressure. Glass surface get cold rapidly while the inner still dilates.
This physic state difference makes the glass getting energy and will be more resistant to the impact, pressure, flexion, torsion, and thermal shock.
The product keeps the same physical state, and retains all its qualities such as transparency, translucency, the inalterability of the colour etc.
Next the treatment the glass gets an hardness which not allowed any adjustment and perforation or every kind of manipulation, reason for what every glass personalisation must be realised previously. The treatment doesn't make the glass unbreakable but increase significantly its resistance.
- Is the glass safe? If it would break, could we result injured?
- Tempered safety glass is considerate as a safety element in construction, that's why using it is recommended in all cases of human contact.
In case of rupture, the balance of tensions breaks too, which release an energy flow on all the glass superficies.
So the glass results disintegrated in thousands of minuscule round and safe fragments and can not cut or penetrate, saving user physical integrity.

The new generation glue used by DUSCHOLUX IBÉRICA, S.A., provides a double function: join the glass to the frame and make that water do not escape.
This product do not include isocyanate which make it an ecologic product. More over, it provides un big elasticity which permit to amortize impacts and tensions of the quotidian.
More over, DUSCHOLUX IBÉRICA, S.A. has developed an exclusive Melody® Security System, studied especially for the shower enclosures ranges only with vertical frames associate with pivot and bi-fold doors. This system permit to clave fix panels and doors' glass with the frame (this one can't get off).
- What is TÜV CERTIFICATION?
- In addition to the guaranties and certifications of the materials used in Duscholux IBERICA, SA, we considered also important to have a safety certification for all the shower enclosures. After reviewing the different official audit offices, the company chooses TÜV-Rheinland, considering this homologation procedure very efficiently, because there are based on an extended know-how focuses on production processes, in order to ensure that the resulting product meets the stringent requirements of functionality and security. In January 2001 we were worthy of such certification for all our models and finishes (glass, mirror and acrylic). The implementation process was very quickly, as a result of our internal high quality and exclusive standards, which are specially adapted to the requirements of our market, such as visual qualities of different materials, dimensions, functionality, etc.
The TÜV Certification is based on a combination of different European homologations (for example: stress tests: torque, pressure, impact, etc..) of different materials. The certification consists basically of the manufacturing process control, control of our raw material suppliers and impact-based testing realized with a homologated metal cone of 10 kg and a homologated skin sack of 45 kg weight. All the results of the quality tests of our products have been satisfactory. This is a clear indication of a proper design in our glass manufacturing and also structural elements (such as aluminium profiles) an plastic parts as well, which reinforce the whole structure in order to ensure the product quality and security.
With the compromise to keep the TÜV Homologation updated, the company carries out an annual monitoring and production process auditory.
- What is UNE EN 14428 Norm?
- On time more Duscholux has been a precursor into the shower enclosures market. What was an additional valour synonym of quality and security for ours retailers and users, now, is an obligation for all shower enclosures, over bath screen and shower valves fabricants.
Since September 2007, shower enclosures, over bath screen and shower valves fabricants must respect the European Security normative of European Norm EN 14428 approved by European Comity of Normalisation in November 2004, in accord with the Directive 89/106/CEE and the Resolution of the Industry Minister of 5th December 2005. The norm specifies the different characteristics that glass screens and shower valves need to present, to provide a satisfactory security and durability use, when it is used wisely, and installed in the correct way according to manufacturer's instructions.
Duscholux Ibérica has adapted to EN 14428 norm, submitting his products to TÜV RHEINLAND's annual meticulous quality and resistance control, in our factory of Barcelona.
- How do we clean the glass?
- To enjoy years of high performance, trouble free showering and peace of mind, please follow the next DUSCHOLUX products recommendations:
- Under no circumstances you will use an abrasive cleaning pad or agent, as some rags or sponges, and cleaning products with a pH different from neutral.
- DO NOT USE detergent or product that contain in their chemical composition: solvent or decalcification components, any types of acid (including vinegar), bleach, ammoniac or any other products considered chemically corrosive, causing damages and wear out prematurely the frames (especially if they are lacquered), parts, acrylic superficies, and plastic joints.
- Our shower enclosures with acrylic panel must not be dry cleaned, it may causes irreparable scratches on the surface. So, you need to wet the panel with water before using a damp cloth smooth and our products DUSCHO-Clean and DUSCHO-Dry®..
DUSCHOLUX suggests exclusives cleaning products for glass shower enclosures and over bath screens as DUSCHO-Clean Cristales® or DUSCHO-Clean/Duscho-Dry® for the acrylic range. All have been developed to protect and increase the product life. To make easy limestone antistatic residuals cleaning, produced by the water while adhering to the glass, Duscholux have added to his products a powerful limescale free cleaner DUSCHO-Rein®.
For glasses with FeelNet3D® application, we recommend using our product DUSCHO-Clean Cristal®, complying with DUSCHOLUX glass wiper blade.
- Does exist a product to prevent the harmful action of limestone on the glass and to make easy the cleaning?
- Duscholux provides FeelNet3D® protecting application, an innovating product developed to clean the glass quickly and effortlessly.
FeelNet3D® is a chemical protection which principal function is making the glass repeals water drops himself, working with molecular electric incompatibility. It avoids the intrusion of limestone molecule into the glass.
The principal component of FeelNet3D® is not silicone. The properties are obtained through the molecular chemical union happening during the shower enclosures fabrication and which make it more resistant. The transparent barrier is not visible with the naked eye.
- Where can we get Duscholux products?

- Is the lacquered frame durable?
- The lacquering is an aluminium protection product, it consists to apply an organic coat or paint on the aluminium superficies. The quality of the coating, as its thickness, will significantly determinate his durability. Our frames have a thickness between 60 and 120 micrometers which guarantee an extraordinary life, higher than the average.
- Does DUSCHOLUX provide shower trays?

More over, we have the shower base Base Creativ Extra Flat®, manufactured with hydro fugal TMD material, highly resistant and compatible to all kind of design and measures, until a maximum of 1860 x 860 mm. It is especially manufactured to enjoy all the space led by the old bath, without necessity of any additional reform.
- Are the shower trays sliding?
- With the anti-slide application DuschoGRIP®, our shower trays and our Base Creativ Extra Flat® base have a total access security (enter and exit). This coating of excellent adhering properties, with nice touch and easy clean, provide a perfect stable, rigid base and liberty of movements for showering.
